“Pay What You Can” markets set to return

The running dates for 2023 Community Harvest Markets have been announced, with the first of many markets throughout the season slated for June 13. The markets, running since 2013, provide an option for affordable, locally grown produce in three different locations in the city.This year will serve as the debut for a third market behind Centre 70 on Days Rd, choosing to add a location on the west end after hearing that part of the city is a bit underserved and that there’s not a lot of food access programs.The market adopts a “Pay What You Can” model on a sliding scale from $0-5, trying to ensure that anyone who wants access to locally grown produce isn’t restricted by the cost.Community Harvest Coordinator Marie Bencze, says while this market has always been a great asset for the community, it is especially needed with rapidly rising costs.“You see endless news articles about the cost of everything right now and especially food,” Bencze said.“...Family of woman killed by rock faces suspects in court

(KDVR) — Video from Letecia Stauch’s latest sanity evaluation played in the courtroom Tuesday as the murder trial draws closer to closing arguments and a verdict.Stauch is the stepmother accused of killing her 11-year-old stepson, Gannon. With a plea of not guilty by reason of insanity, the defense isn’t whether or not Stauch killed Gannon, but if she was insane or able to tell right from wrong at the time of the murder.The prosecution rested Tuesday after weeks of testimony, including a psychologist who evaluated Stauch and found her sane. The defense’s witness, clinical psychiatrist Dr. Dorothy Lewis, testified otherwise.On Tuesday Lewis, who said she’s worked with more than 100 adults on death row, testified that she evaluated Stauch as appearing to have Dissociative Identity Disorder. Police say they have apprehended a man who allegedly opened fire inside the waiting room of an Atlanta medical facility, killing one woman and injuring four others Wednesday.Authorities had swarmed the cityâs bustling midtown neighborhood earlier in the day in search of the suspect, who fled after the shooting.
